Historic Chapel Restoration Project
This historic building which first housed the Marstons Mills Methodist congregation was purchased from the Yarmouth Brethren in 1830 for the sum of $200. It was then conveyed by an ox-cart to its present location on a piece of land donated by Allen Marston and Ebenezer Scudder.
In 1915 a vestry was added on to the rear, and electricity was installed in 1926.
The Church was revived in 1980 when it was purchased by Reverend Phil Sherman of Cotuit for $55,000. Thus was born the Marstons Mills Community Church.
A spacious new sanctuary for the burgeoning congregation was built in 1993 by the members' donated labor under the leadership of Reverend Robert Swanson.
The Church continues to meet in this beloved historic sanctuary during the summer months.
